Okay, here comes another probably stupid question.
I ask because i cant find any info anywhere.
So no flaming please.
Phenethylamine is similar to amphetamine structurally and blah blah, does anybody know how it could be converted to phenylacetone or phenylpropene?
Alastair - 23-9-2011 at 08:41
Or oxidised phenylacetic acid maybe?

This thread is going to be deleted by the moderators, but I will quickly answer you question: There is always a way to convert one compound to
another, it is just a matter of difficulty. In this case, it is not very feasible. So basically, the answer is no.
But maybe someone that knows more about the organic chemistry of meth labs can help you. (sarcasm)

Whoopsies. Didnt mean to break any rules
i just like to read about pharmacological syntheses.
and noo, meth labs are dangerous and their science is not overly scientific.

You started out with PEA to anything? Quite a few anythings as a matter of fact. Since you're 'bent' toward medicinal you can react with ethyl
acrylate and make N-phenethyl-4-piperidone a precursor for a rather strong opioid.

YES!!!!
bullseye, Carson!
See, i was inspired by Weills ''Chocolate to morphinre'' (the name rather than contents) and wanted to find some possibilities on this umm... relation
Thank you, it filled me with good humour on a tense evening.
