Drying ammonium acetate?

DocX - 23-11-2022 at 07:51

So I just bought a small amount of ammonium acetate and DAMN is it hygroscopic. Its almost a slurry upon delivery, and while it might not be a problem for my intended use, my sense of order wants it dry.

I've read up on the difficulties involved, but thought I'd put a hook out to see if anyone has any experience that might help.

the search button at the top works great if you select subject only. Searching the body had way to many results

Thanks. I got lazy there and didn't do the required search good enough.

So basically the best way is to pour a bunch of silica beads into a desiccator, place the slurry in a container in the middle, seal it and then heat it up to 30-40 C. And see if that works.
