"MS 3A" means 3 Angstroms molecular sieves. That is from Synthesis, 2009, 160-164. It does not appear very suitable for ammonia, but at least some
ammonium carboxylates easily give some moderate yield of the corresponding amide upon heating (though not with all substrates).
There are some examples of fatty acids giving good yields in the standard reaction with urea. I currently don't have the time to do a literature
search for, but you can UTFSE for more info.
