Is the post flood control really needed?

I hate the post flood control  I'm not sure if I speak for others hear, but I generally like to make a lot of posts in different threads at one time in the day, and not post anything for the rest of the day. I generally talk in a few threads concurrently. But the flood control makes this so hard. Is there a way to disable flood control for known members, like we do with whimsy?

Now that we have much less spammers, I think it is safe to make the flood control less strict. I set the control to 1 post per minute.

We still need some flood control, because there still are some old spammer accounts, which at random times start posting their crap. If flood control is switched off completely then they may fill up all forums with their crap in a matter of seconds before they are killed by a moderator.

If you’re writing more than one post in a minute, you should probably take a minute to think about whether what you’re writing is worth saying.
