Been putting my new reagents to use.
Made a tiny <10ml yireld) bit of propyl acetatre, and this evening working on same smaal amount od propyl for next set of synmtheses, gotta figure
out thE acetate esers

Did you that by refluxing with acetic acid & sulfuric acid method @arkoma? I did the synthesis of n-butyl acetate according to this method (by
Vogel's procedure) and I would say it is one of my favourite. I like the easiness of the preparation and the smell.
Has propyl acetate also nice smell? I want to make more acetate esters also and if you know some having particularly good smell I would start with
them.
