Does 1 ppm (parts per million) = 1 mg/L for all solvents or just water?
All sources I found seem to specify aqueous solutions.DraconicAcid - 2-11-2020 at 21:23
Only for dilute aqueous solutions, or those with a density of 1 g/mL. It will be 1 mg per kg of mixture for all systems.Cou - 3-11-2020 at 10:12
For solvents besides water, ppm is just a nickname for mg/L concentrations. I analyze substances by diluting 250 mg in 25 mL to make a 10000 mg/L or
"ppm" solution.
