Hi members I want to start checking the pH of solutions more often. What do you use for checking pH? I have a test kit designed for pools but was
wondering if there is something more accurate but still economical cost. morganbw - 26-6-2020 at 13:59
for convenience I use pH paper. I worked for 20+ years in an industrial setting where we used pH meters. I do think that for an amatuar that is over
kill and the pH papers are sufficient on an amatuar basis. I think that normally it is just as accurate as well. Tsjerk - 26-6-2020 at 14:00
I use something like this. B(a)P - 26-6-2020 at 15:36
I iwas going to show an example of some pH paper test strips like I have, but with free shipping, I can't really beat this price below, $7.65 for 100
strips, with free shipping. But I can offer $7 for anyone already buying stuff, but it would cost me $3-4 to ship it, so too expensive to ship one,
but no extra weight on an existing order.
I found pH test strips can't be used effectively with plant based extractions as they colour the strips brown/black and then the colour of the strip
can't be seen through it so a meter is required for accuracy.if not doing plant extracts pH strips are fine.draculic acid69 - 26-6-2020 at 18:19
Litmus paper should be enough to do everything u want to measure and in combination with the pool strips will be fairly accurate.
