I mixed KClO3 with candle wax or lamp oil, but when igniting or heating nothing happens, at most the KClO3 melts without reacting with the wax or oil.
Only when I put some sugar on the heated mixture, it reacts with the hot KClO3 leaving the oil / wax intact.
Why ? I thought KClO3 is very reactive with any organic combusitible...

Works for me... https://youtu.be/NX27oIvfAWI
Try 34 fat/oil 66 KClO3.
With candles wax, the wax melts long before the chlorate so you need to have a hot ignition source that can pour in tons of heat quick to get it
going.

Candlewax and chlorate in the correct mix will detonate by the shock of a strong primary, but on ignition by flame, the wax boils at a temp. lower
than chlorate's decomposition temp. and so it cannot deflagrate.
