Hello!
I am contemplating buying some berl saddles for a 400mm 24/40 Hemple column and I have heard here that glass spheres, while easy to clean & pour,
are not the best at ixing the vapors & condensate. I have given up right now on finding a proper N24 jointed Dutfon column from Quickfit( Its hell
to get anything Quickfit in the states, so a fractionating bubble column is out of the question as well) so I am thinking about using 8mm porcelain
berl saddles. I know they have a lot more surface area and as they are porcelain, I understand they are more porous that 3.3 Boro.
Are porcelain berl saddles too porous to be able to properly clean them between fractionations? IE: do I need to use fresh saddles each time? If I can
clean them, how should I do it? thanks for your advice and time!!
