This is just a rant. I recently purchased a new laptop in the post xmas sales. An Aldi special.
I had resolved to take it back as it has limited storage and is not upgradable + the touch pad and key board drive me crazy. What is super irritating
is it came with what I will call preload spam. One was a time limited McAfee anti virus app that frequently interrupted me with a window to warn me
that my protection would expire unless I renew my subscription and no obvious way of closing the window without agreeing to have no protection. I
eventually removed the app and discovered I could activate MS defender.
Apparently most if not all the preload apps are time limited and must be purchased or subscribed to. Apparently when I loaded some mobile phone pics
I used one of the preloaded apps. But now there seems to be no way to view the jpg pics without buying an app. When I check the properties of the
Jpg file it contains zero bytes and if I upload it here SM ignores the up load.
But if I open the app it shows one of the pics in limited gray tones and resolutions. So it must have made a copy and deleted most of the orginal
file. If thats true its super nasty.
One more irritation some of the spam seems to be integrated into the OS. I hope MS gets in big trouble with the EU.
PS I am a I want my old XP and Chrome back guy LOL
