Anyone ever done any business with them?kilowatt - 18-7-2008 at 16:34
Looks like they've got some pretty outrageous prices.pantone159 - 18-7-2008 at 20:00
I noticed them some time ago, but I have never ordered anything from them. For the most part, their prices do seem high, I think that is why I never
placed any orders.undead_alchemist - 19-7-2008 at 08:58
I looked at some of their chemical prices,
Some were ok, others where 2-3x higher then other suppliers...
The prices for HCL where overkill.
Also same goes for some of the glassware..
Also noticed that they are selling products from Spectrum Chemicals too,

I ordered palladium on carbon from them. no problem.poisoninthestain - 5-3-2009 at 04:20
1g of ergotamine tartrate just like that? seems fishy.woelen - 5-3-2009 at 23:46

I think he means that. Artchemicals.com is something else.Sauron - 6-3-2009 at 21:18
Come on. If they are in USA and selling ergotamine tartrate OTC they are a sting plain and simple.woelen - 7-3-2009 at 13:42
Jor, you are right. I never ordered from artchemicals.com, but I did several times from http://www.artcraftchemicals.com . The latter is a very good seller, with decent prices and hassle-free ordering. Their chemicals, however, are
limited to photography and other related processes. Nice for metal salts though.pantone159 - 7-3-2009 at 22:55
ArtChemicals.com seems to be a reseller of Spectrum to some extent. Their main inventory listing is a very small subset of Spectrum's inventory,
things useful for art projects. But they do have links to everything in Spectrum, which includes ergotamine tartrate. If you look at the Spectrum page https://webstore.spectrumchemical.com/OA_HTML/ibeCSrdSrchRes...
it says

Item Additional Information
DEA list 1 chemical. California precursor chemical. Shipping from CA requires 21 day hold. Written order required.
so I am sure an order from an individual would be rejected. Expensive too! I don't think it is a sting, but I sure wouldn't try to order that!Sedit - 7-3-2009 at 23:21
Iv been in the scean of art'sy type shit for a while. Why would any art store need to seel ergotamine? It really seems useless at first glance.
[Edited on 8-3-2009 by Sedit]Sauron - 7-3-2009 at 23:22
It does beg the question, if you were a DEA registered buyer of List One precursors, why would you deal with a dodgy overpriced repack operation like
these? You could buy it straight up from a real supplier.
Anyway I thought ergotamine is on Schedule One not merely List One. I was given to understand that most of the LA-related alkaloids from which LA can
be prepared are in the same boat.Sedit - 8-3-2009 at 00:01
God i hate to say it, but for once I agree with Sauron, there is no need for ergotamine from this source. Be wary of anything they sell because that
alone is enough to raise some eyebrows. It just makes no sence unless Im missing something here.kclo4 - 8-3-2009 at 00:16
Why would anyone dare by ergotamine anyways? Most places selling it like that would almost have to be a sting operation wouldn't they?
Considering the risks, seems like you would want to try to culture the fungus and extract.Sauron - 8-3-2009 at 00:21
A DEA licensed lab would not have to fear a sting, but they also wouldn't have to deal with such absurd sellers.piracetam - 11-3-2009 at 19:20
artchemicals is where I got a liter of tech grade nitric, shipped to TX (DHL, black hazmat bucket).
no problempantone159 - 11-3-2009 at 19:56
I don't think this place is a sting, they seem legit to me.
They list some variety of chems that are useful for art projects. (They seem to ask for a lot of use descriptions too.) These chems are, apparently,
sourced from Spectrum.
Along with their main inventory, there is also a section that reproduces all of Spectrum's catalog. This includes ergotamine tartrate. No human put
that info specifically on artchemicals webpage, that was done by a computer program. You really have to search for it too, I had to explicitly search
for ergotamine to find it, it's not like it is dangled out as a tempting thing to buy.
If you DID try and buy the ergotamine online, it would surely be checked by Spectrum, and you wouldn't get it although you would get a lot of
unfriendly questions.
Point is, I don't think that link is intentionally on the artchemical webpage, they aren't trying to sting anybody, but of course don't try to buy
any!Sedit - 11-3-2009 at 20:29
Sounds to me more like a front then a sting then.
Order mess loads of chems and try to hide there ergotamine purchases in the mass of paperwork. Just a thought but reasonable enough if you ask me.watson.fawkes - 11-3-2009 at 23:25
