D2O and H2O Density and Melting Point Report

Abstract: Using two distinct methods, I compared the densities of heavy water, D2O, and regular distilled water, H2O, and I compared the melting points of heavy ice and distilled water ice. Since I only did one trial for Method 1, I was unable to compare the accuracy and precision of the two methods. However, both methods found that heavy water has a greater density than distilled water, and heavy ice has a greater melting point than distilled water ice. Moreover, Method 2 found a statistically significant difference between the densities of heavy water and distilled water.
