Anions formed between chlorine and oxygen, including hypochlorite(ClO-), chlorite(ClO2-), chlorate(ClO3-), and perchlorate(ClO4-). Compounds containing these ions are often powerful oxidizers, such as the well-known potassium chlorate and perchlorate used in flash powder.
