The two-container technique is a simple process used to purify hydrochloric acid without using distillation, by using two vessels inside a larger one, one containing the impure HCl, and the other containing distilled water.

Prepare two plastic containers, best be used flat ones with a large surface. In one of the containers, add the impure HCl. In the other plastic container, distilled water is added. Both volumes should be equal. Place both containers in a large transparent plastic vessel, such a tupperware with lid. Close the large tupperware and place it in a safe place, where it won't be disturbed. After a week or two, the concentration of HCl in both vessels should be roughly equal, though differences may appear.

TheHomeScientist made a video showing this technique. You can find it here.
