Screw connectors used for water condenser (left) and air inlet/outlet (right)

Screw connectors are plastic connectors with an inner screw, often used with various pieces of glassware.

General

Plastic screw connectors consist of a screw cap with a plastic tube or some other adapter. The screw cap is colored, usually red, blue or green, while the tube is more often than not white. The tube can be straight or bent. A silicon rubber seal is often used. Screw connectors are often made of PE.

Screw connectors are often encountered on many types of condensers, gas dispersion tubes, gas inlet tubes or vacuum adapters. Other type of screw adapters are sometimes used for Büchner flasks that lack the vacuum hose barb.
