A bosshead, sometimes called clamp holder, is a metallic piece of labware used to hold various metal rods and extension clamps, like iron rings or other utility clamps.

Bossheads consist of an S-shaped thick metallic item, with two screws. Other models consist of a rectangular piece with two holes and metallic screws. Generally, bossheads are made of plain steel, stainless steel, brass, aluminium or zinc (zamak). while the screw is always steel. Special types of bossheads have a bent shape, while others have a thermometer clamp.
