A retort clamp or utility clamp (often just clamp) is a type of clamp used to hold various glassware, often the ground glass joint types, as well as other types.
General
Retort clamps are metallic items, with 2 metallic jaws, that can be adjusted via a screw. The jaws are coated with cork or plastic, and can have 2, 3 or 4 prongs. The jaws are connected to a metallic rod, which can be connected to a bosshead, although some models have a built-in bosshead or screw clamp. They are commonly made of stainless steel or plain galvanized steel.
Availability
Retort clamps can be bought from lab suppliers, or online.
