Close-Up Time-Lapse Chemical Reactions
Hello,
I'm looking for some interesting chemical reactions on the cheap (materials/chemicals) to photograph up-close, over time. For conversion to
time-lapse video (at 30 frames per second).
The lens would be mere inches from whatever the subject would be, so explosions and toxic fumes are out of the
question. The reaction would be filmed at 1 inch to 1 cm (or less) in width, so as to see magnified what is at the limits, or just beyond, of what
the naked-eye can clearly define.
Time between shots will vary; most likely from 1 image per second to 1 image per minute (this range isn't absolute). For 3-30 seconds of video per
reaction (again, this range isn't absolute). Though the time between shots would be consistent for any given sequence/reaction.
This is art based on science.

The following may be interesting for you. Especially the first one is very suitable for time lapse recording. You could also try other chemicals,
which give precipitates with each other
(nice combos are copper sulfate + potassium ferrocyanide, potassium iodide/starch + hydrogenperoxide/HCl)
