Another quicklime source: food dessicant


I found some CaO dessicant packs in food packaging. Some extra CaO. Nice! Have anyone of you also seen them before?

WHy do you think that is CaO rather than SiO2?
(I have to admit I can't read most of what it says.)

Because it really says CaO, plus it's powdery not beady.
