Mad Scientist of the Year Award - some pictures

I received the trophy in good order. Thanks aga!

I made a little wooden shelf so that it can be put on the wall. It looks very nice and has found a nice place in my lab:

Of course, there must also be some madness around it. The next picture shows the trophy with some recent home-made madness:

Br2 in sealed/molten test tube
PBr5 in ampoule

Thanks for the honour and this trophy gives a nice touch to my little lab.

Congratulations wolelen, and thanks for posting the photo. That's a nice place for your trophy. If other winners don't mind taking a photo of the trophy in their lab, I'd be glad to see it :).

Well, the finished trophy looks just awesome. Great job aga. And a truly lovely idea to organise this award.

Well done to woelen, as well as Dan Vizine, Magpie and Blogfast25. Worthy recipients all of you. Read into that that we appreciate your knowledge and generosity and the way you contribute to this board. It would be great to.see shelf photos of the other trophies.

Here's to a productive and interesting year of experimenting in 2017. I know that I have a fw ideas and projects up my sleeve and can't wait to try them out and share the results.

*Applauds happily*
But seriously these trophies have gone to 4 people who really deserve them, Dan Vizine's homemade glovebox and element samples were great.

Thank You

I looked through this area for what would be an appropriate existing topic to post this. It feels a little egotistical to start a topic which draws attention to yourself for personal reasons and so I hope this isn't seen that way. Because, the purpose is to express true thanks to everyone here for the honor. And especially to Aga. You put a lot of work into this, and your results are beautiful. Here is a picture of my assistant, Lenny, admiring your work.

Thanks SM.jpg - 259kB

Woohoo ! The Postal Donkey did the right thing at least twice !

Glad you like the trophies guys. It was an education trying to make them.

For what Magpie, woelen, Dan Vizine and blogfast25 have shown us of what they've done, and contributed to truly educational and inspirational Actual Chemistry, you definitely all deserve the recognition.

I suspect the cat thinks there might be a mouse in there, and the pestle is it's tail ...

Edit :-

Feck !

There are 3 extra 'secret' awards (one similar, two totally different) i assigned to 3 special members myself

Sent two already and forgot to post the the final one. I'll get on it tomorrow.

Pretty sure you'll all agree the recipients are more than worthy of the honour(s) i chose.

We'll see if/when they receive them.
