Matter Manipulation
Hi everyone, MatterManipulation is a name of my youtube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCFJ9VmME1Y2Cj3MCnv2kjeQ) , it is based on chemistry experiments and demonstrations.
I usually create a new topic for each of my new videos, and I believe this is not appropriate to have so many topics from one member. It is not polite
to other members of this forum!
Ok, to be honest, I've been told off(super politely) by the moderator.
Anyway, from now on I will post my new videos to this topic.
New video
Beautiful chemistry (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=68S5-NtuSEY)
This video designed as an entertainment and provides no educational information. This is only a demonstration of some I believe beautiful chemical
processes.
I hope you will enjoy.

In this video, I am making the first worlds battery using household items. Thit battery was invented by Alessandro Volta in 1791.
Also, I am including some interesting history facts regarding the invention and the principals of work.
This is my first video where I am mostly using a speech instead of a text as by advice of many people.
However, my speech is not very clear, (obviously, there is no singing career possible for me ) in any case I did my best to make it sound as clear as possible.
Let me know what do you think guys, your opinion really matters to me.

Very Nice video.
You have a good style, easy to watch, interesting, no waffle.
Your Voice is Much better than the text-only version !
Improvements: well, er, that one was the best yet, so to make a Better one will depend on your audience.
Small detail :-
Wiki says Volta was born in 1745, and did most of his work in the 1700's which was the 16th century, not the 17th.

Hi aga, your comments are always pleasant to read.
About the centuries, you are right I made a mistake there is not the 17th century, according to Wikipedia period from 1700-1800 year is the 18th
century.
Thank you for the feedback.

1700-1799 is the 18th Century
The 'Century' starts from when Jesus1 was born.
0-999 was the 1st Century.
1000-1999 was the 2nd Century and so on.
We are currently in the 21st Century.
Early Christians were not programmers, yet still made the classic off-by-one error.
(1not Jesus-Antonio my neighbour, the other Jesus)
Edit:
Corrected as i got it 100% wrong.

Wrong way aga, should be the 18th century. We're in the 21st century, not the
19th century.

Hmm, last time I checked centuries lasted for 100 years.
Either that or I took a really long nap

Indeed, centuries last 100 years, millennia last 1000.
What he meant was probably
0-999 1-10 th century
1000-1999 11-20 th century
In fact, 21th century refers to the period between 2000-2099 (2000 years = 20 centuries = 2 millennia)

In this video, I am making ferric oxide by oxidizing the steel wool.
The natural process is too slow for that reason I am using an oxidizing agent.
Also, I am trying to explain the processes that are happening during this reaction.
In this reaction, Iron metal undergoes oxidation to form Iron(III)oxide.
4F + 3O2 ---2Fe2O3.
This reaction requires a catalyzation and in this case, catalyst is a water with dissolved ions of NaCl (table salt)
Salt water is an electrolyte which conducts ions, speeding up rusting. The salt solution acts as an electrolyte, allowing electrons to flow and hence
speeding up electron loss. Therefore we can see that the three conditions required for rust to occur are:
*oxygen
*water
*electrolyte (to allow conduction to take place)
As a source of oxygen, I am using Hydrogen peroxide.
H2O2
Hydrogen peroxide is unstable and decomposes to oxygen and water.
2H2O2 ---> O2 + 2H2O
This reaction also needs a catalysis and iron(III)oxide works perfectly.

Perfect I am very happy you guys liked it, thank you.
Did you have any difficulties understanding my accent? Perhaps I need to subtitle the voiceover.

The accent is definitely a positive thing.
Very clear and easy to understand, so no need for subtitles.
No offence - it reminds me of the original Checkov from Star Trek, so you got 'fame by association' going on
Here's a preview of Matter Manipulation's next youtube video about sourcing Uranium :-

To be honest, the nuclear chemistry is one of my favourite subjects, and I may consider the video about the radiation.

Nice video! It's put together very well; the narration and pace are good. Does YouTube hassle you about the music in your videos? Every time I post
something with music, regardless of the source and even if it's a free license, it always gets auto-flagged with a copyright claim I have to dispute.

MrHomeScientist Hi, Thank you for the feedback. You have a quite an impressive channel and I've never seen any of your videos before, I subscribed.
No, I never had any problems with the music as long as it is not protected by the copyrights and an appropriate credit is given to the authors in your
video description.

Interesting, I do all the same. Probably they hassle me because my videos are monetized. Keep an eye out when you start to monetize; they may make you
change some of your music or thumbnails.
Thanks for the compliments! I subscribed to you as well.

That's true, they provide their music free for independent creators. In the case of commercial activity, they want some share, which I believe is fair
enough. Try to get in touch with the copyright owner and see under what conditions they will let you use their music.
Quote from NCS channel
• NCS Music is free to use for independent Creators and their UGC (User Generated Content) on YouTube & Twitch - if you're a brand or a
commercial organisation interested in using NCS music on YouTube or anywhere else, get in touch at licensing@nocopyrightsounds.co.uk
I don't think they will start hassling me any soon according to the progress of my channel

I just posted a new video yesterday that included some music, and so far it hasn't been flagged for copyright. I did include the license text in the
video itself as well as the description this time, which is a requirement from the website I used (didn't know that until now). So I either got lucky,
or putting the text in the video itself is the way to go.
