How to make ferric oxide

Simple, stuff, I know, but I thought I'd post.

Take detergent cleaned steel wool, cover with 3% hydrogen peroxide, add some plain old table salt, and heat. You might not believe how fast rust will form!

A long time ago I made the mistake of grinding carbon in a mortar. After trying sodium ethoxide, sandpaper, mag wheel cleaner with HF, most of the carbon is gone. Now I'm going to try oxidizing the carbon with Fe2O3 and a little heat. Then I'll have to remove the rust stains..

RESPONSE
Ahem, since you have abruptly closed this thread I will respond here. I did do some searching before I posted this. I saw a post or two about electrolytic production and acid/base production. I saw nothing about using peroxide. It appears that you are at fault, not me, since you didn't take the time to determine whether peroxide was involved in any of the pre-existing posts.
