Lithiumphenylphosphine

Hi there,
i'm informing myself about LiPPhH. Due to Issleib it's prepared by reacting nBuli with H2PPh.

- has anyone done the synthesis, told by Issleib sometime in the 1989s (dont have the source here right now)

- i have modified some stuff on this reaction procedure (concentrations), but i have problems identifying the product.

- is this stuff stable as a salt or only in solution (which solvent? THF should work, since the synthesis is done in it and there are no precipitates)

- what does it look like? i guess yellow crystals, but i gotta wait for MS/NMR to be sure if it this is what i wanted...

- side products: maybe clusters, P=P bonds, 4-rings and stuff... but my crystal yellow stuff looks too clean. the only thing that doesnt fit is the slight white film while drying, which i think is a lithium-compound-side-product; or just a sooooooo thin film of that yellow stuff, that is appears white.

sooooo....

thanks for all help, i guess most of the organics use this LiPPhH in situ, but i need it neat and clean.

greats
