Thiodiglycol:
Ethylene oxide + hydrogen sulfide
or
Ethylene chlorohydrin + sodium sulfite
Diethylaminoethanol:
Ethylene oxide + Diethylamine
or
Diethylamine + ethylene bromohydrin
Plus a bunch of weird reaction conditions.
