Cicutoxin and Enanthotoxin

Sorry for posting it here. I'm new and not very sure where to put this in.

I've scoured the web trying to find how to pull out these wicked unsaturated alcohols from water hemlock and water dropwort to no avail. Haven't had much luck with literature search either. Damn library.

Anyone have know-how on how I could get at it? Thanks a bunch. (^_^)

Isolation of cicutoxin: Jacobson, JACS 37 (1915) 916

Be careful.

Yeah, I know. One spill and I wiggle myself to doomsday. ;)

Thanks a bunch. Just needed to extract it for a pal with rats to kill.

I think your pal could find a lot safer and more effective rat poisons. They make some amazing warfarin analogues these days.

Just curious. Why go to all this trouble when warfarin based rodenticides are available?

Warfarin resistant rats?
The dang things can eat rat poison and then they ask for seconds.

Rat traps?
Cheap, very powerful and reusable.
It is the green solution.
I arm mine wearing heavy gloves as they can chop a small rat in half when they fire.
The bodies are thrown in the field for the crows or gulls to eat, sometimes the cat has a chew first. :-)
I load mine with bacon as bait or failing that a lump of dead rat.
Cannibalistic little baskets!
