When I was a kid I used to attach like 1/4" Plexiglass to old sneakers, and was able to ski down the hill on my street. The PMA would just very
gradually slough off, and leave a sweet odour after a skiing episode. It was really amazing how my plexiglass sneakers allowed me to ski down a
pavement hill. Very little friction. Quarter inch PMMA good for a whole season and then some.
