I'm giving away one complete Kontes Micro

kit, to the most needy/worthy here. The story of the eviction notices in DC (Monkey Cty.) saddened me. Even though you won, twice, you very well could have lost on the same merits you won on. Just having this happen is a really shitty thing to occur. This might not have helped that, but I bet it sure could help another in an organic, precarious situation.

Please, someone who has contributed to SM selflessly, and could really use a top notch Kontes Micro kit to keep things more on the quiet end. I have no idea really, especially near the top end choosing, and could really use the mods help and their wisdom in identifying the person who deserves this, and who will put to good use.

i would love to have it but i'm not asking for it. i don't know for sure about needy but plante1999 has done a lot of cool things with only very basic gear and i bet he could do some really cool things with more advanced equipment. check out his work. he also has a website. just look up his user name.

I'll be honest. I would love it, but I'm probably not very deserving of it. Off the top of my head, I know myst32 has done some basic organic chemistry on his YouTube, and UC235 has done some quite interesting organic chemistry on his. Both seem to have a wide array of "normal-sized" glassware, but the micro-scale kit might be useful to test out reactions that can be later scaled up. There are a few others I can think of that would be blessed by better glassware, but they aren't exactly in the micro-scale market.

I second Rogeryermaw's motion. Knowing plante1999 he could definitely do some impressive things with it, and unfortunately he doesn't have the means to purchase one. Next thing you know we'll have DIY cubane or something.. I have a similar setup and it's definitely a life saver, now if only I had normal clamps!

you really should give it to plante1999, all he has is a small portable chemistry set. with that he could do so many cool things, I am curious to what he would do with it.

all above information is intellectual property of Pyro. :D

I also would love it, but make no claim to having earned it. Plante1999 and myst32 are both really good candidates. I don't know enough about uc235 to comment.

Plante1999 would definately be a deserving member. I've talked to him at length previously and he is very knowledgeable for his age, and has some great ideas. However I feel he is held back by the lack of proper glassware. A micro kit would be perfect for someone in his conditions, and I believe he would make excellent use of it.

plante1999

I have had several conversations with him in the past and attest that he is a very worthy recipient of this set.

Give it to Plante! My response is delayed but I agree, he would surely do nice things with it and definitely be extremely appreciative!

i just got back from out of town or else i would have picked plante as well. he has took the time to u2u me and answer some questions and he is the one member i track on SM to see what he's up. it would really be good to see what he will do with it because he always does interesting things and takes the time to show it all in simple terms for the not so saavy like myself.
