How to store and dispose of Sodium Sulfide?
I bought some Sodium Sulfide to do some lead testing and want to know how to properly store it? Some of the SDS say to store under an inert atmosphere
and keep refrigerated but the Sodium Sulfide I bought just came in a regular bottle and not refrigerated. I know the SDS can be overcautious. Also,
when I’m done how do I dispose of or neutralize Sodium Sulfide?

I have not had many issues in storing it in the bottle it came in. It is deliquescent though, so make sure the container seals well.
If you want to dispose of it, I guess making a solution and adding it to a solution of copper sulfate. You will get copper sulfide precipitate which
is pretty inert. In my lab I mix such precipitates into cement and sand and make a brick that I then dispose of as solid waste.
