Halogen point heater-1700C!
I found out that this device exists and has laboratory use!The maximum temperature is 1700 C! Does anyone have practical experience with this, has
anyone heard of it? I don't know, what is the approximate price,if it is available for an amateur...It comes from Japan, maybe @Parakeet might know
something about it;-)?

That's insane, I'm sure theyre extremely expensive but you if you had some metal working skills and could find a lamp of similar power then it
probably wouldn't be too difficult to replicate. Even one of lower power would be very useful in the lab.

Is it not simply doing what you could do with a lens and the sun?

I think that in general,
Factory production lines can rely on electricity more than they can on sunlight
