Electrochemistry Cell Experiment

I tried some experiments with creating a simple voltaic cell.

I started with a paper towel soaked in salt water. Electrodes were zinc and carbon. Voltage was around 0.7 volts.

Using a dropper, I then added some 3M H2SO4 around the carbon rod. This brought the voltage up to around 1 volt.

I then added some 3M NaOH solution under the zinc electrode. Doing this brought the voltage up to around 1.5 volts.

I then added some 12% H2O2 solution (on top of the H2SO4 already added) around the carbon rod. This brought the to voltage up to around 2 volts, and allowed me to light a red LED.
