Odd behaviour of a pickling gel
So i was at friend house. He had some Avesta Classic Pickling gel 122 (un2922).
I asked for some, he obliged and decanted some into a glass coke bottle. I got home and put it on the shelf.
Fast forward a few months and my friend gives me.the remainder in the original packaging as he has no.use for it. I go to recombine the two portions
and.in the coke botttle.the cloudy pickle has clarified and some rather large very clear and colourless crystals have grown.
The pickle is 20% nitric, 2-5%HF
Any ideas?

Well, mistake #1 was putting HF in glass.
More directly related is that since it's a gel, it clearly contains things aside from HF and HNO3 that could be forming the crystals.

The gel probably absorbed the silicon fluoride and solidified to a degree
