Unusual two-layered solution. During the process of cadmium synthesis

Today i made cadmium metal, from cadmium sulfate and zinc. When reaction complete i add concentrated acetic acid, water, a small amount of sulfuric acid. And then the solution was like that. Solutions of different densities may have formed, but after a long steering they were still separated. The thought of organic liquid being in the water and just not interfering with each other.

The white solution contains zinc acetate and is therefore white. The bottom layer is transparent
