Vanadium Pentoxide Catalyst
Hey people,
Anyone has any information on how I can make vanadium pentoxide pellets? I have the chemical as a (highly toxic) fine dust and I wanted something
heavier with a large surface area.
The final objective is to make a miniaturized Wet sulfuric acid process plant.

Just place it onto a catalyst support of your choice, can be broken up tiles, concrete, pumice, scoria, glass/ quartz wool etc anything that resists
high temperatures and has high surface area.
I would just soak said support in ammonium metavanadate and oxidize it with a blow torch. The V2O5 particles should be nested in the pores and not
come off. Safer than a free flowing powder anyway.
2 NH4VO3 → V2O5 + 2 NH3 + H2O @ 500-550°C.
Now if I had to use V2O5 powder I would disperse it water and just immerse the catalyst support into it with a good stir for some time, I doubt it is
a very effective method as far catalyst loading goes however.
Potential counts for nothing until realized.
