coating tin dioxide on tin rod
does it have a way to coat tin with tin dioxide , like aluminium when it is use as an anode in a sulfuric acid electrolite,
because i will made an alloy 75/20/5 aluminium/tin/antimony with a melting point arrond 600degree celciuce , and i want the metal rod i made be coated
with arround 75% of Al2O3 20%SnO2 and probably (2-5% Sb oxide (this part is not very importan)
so i want some idea for this.
test1:
I electrolised a solution of 10% sulfuric acid with two al electrode the anode, after 3hours was coated with aluminium oxide so i droped it in 30%
HCl, after 1hour no reaction orcured so i think it is a great unreactive coating.
test 2:
i take the anode from the first test and i made a tiny hole in it and i droped it in HCl very vigourous reaction orcured, demonstrating the protective
oxide layer was forming.
tanks!
