Large fire in chemicals depot in the Netherlands
Last Wednesday night a large fire occurred in a chemicals packaging depot which resulted in black smoke billowing over a little town of Moerdijk near Rotterdam and explosions occurring.

Authorities cannot tell which chemicals are involved, but specialist say the fire department gets a list of all hazardous chemicals stored every day.
Local municipal authorities say 'there is no danger for the population' while they don't know / refuse to tell what chemicals are involved.
How is this possible ?

Moerdijk mayor Wim Denie told a news conference on Wednesday
night that no substances which are dangerous to health had been
released into the atmosphere. The fire brigade were constantly
monitoring emissions, he said.
However, an Amsterdam University toxicologist told RTL news he
was surprised so little information had been made available about
the nature of the chemicals as late as six hours after the fire had
started. Dangerous substances are released during an ordinary
barbecue, he said.
Eyewitnesses told the Volkskrant there was a 'smell of burning plastic'.
