phenylacetone synthesis?
halo people.
just recently i was wondering on how to make phenylacetone (phenyl2propanone)
i got benzene and acetone.
phenyl to propanone is when the 2 carbon of the propanone bnds with one of the benzene carbon.
this should be easy but i just need t a caalist for the reaction.
something that will remove the oxygen from the propanone and bond it to one of the six carbons of the benzene.
please help me out guys......
c6h6 + c3h6o --????--> c9h11
what could possibly make this bonding?
