PC-420D magnetic stir repair

Hi all! I am trying to fix the magnetic stirrer for my Corning PC-420D. The heating works just fine but no response from the stirrer other than the display showing its RPM. I don't know what to do and I would like your suggestions, comments, heck, tell me a joke....at this point anything would help.

hard to do without any info apart from "it's broken"
open the unit and look for something unusual, like burn marks, exploded capacitors or ICs, disconnected cables. if you don't know anything about electronics post good pictures of the disassembled unit (hoping you don't die while doing it) and maybe we can have some information to make an hypothesis, and then maybe a solution to your problem

feel free to correct my grammar, or any mistakes i make
