Ohhh you wouldn't believe the depths it's use has made it, and that's all I am saying about that. It's also still used a lot by the techie crowds, and other more nefarious groups.

I regularly find myself on IRC due to issues with some software library we might be using somewhere.

I used to be apart of the under ground techie group i guess you'd call it.. no so much any more. I'm a little to old for that kinda thing.
