Get to work or go abroad?
Firstly, i am a ph.D from china in organic chemistry, in fact, methodology for selective organic syntheses.
secondly, i do not want to be involved in academic field, i just want to get an excellent job. please note there, not "good".
thirdly, I have signed a contract with a domestic company, and i should be going to work at July.
Now, my boss recommend that i should go abroad for a postdoc. actually, he asked me to go to Canada. the university is one of top 2 there, and the
advisor is also very nice. i think his H-index should be about 32, much lower than whiteside, however. if i would admit to be there, i will.
the problem is, he also works on methodology for selective organic syntheses, and i am wondering if i did not get a good job after 2 years there, or
should i continue another postdoc after that?
I am confused and i am looking forward for your advices, especially those from industry.
