Do you need a funnel and beaker trap to dissolve chlorine in alkali? Is there any risk of suckback?

Tendence to suck back is observable, but it's not as strong as with H2O-HCl case. Anyway, I prefere not to place chlorine inlet under surface of NaOH solution.
