It would probably be easier and maybe cheaper for all men who don't want to procreate to use condoms or get a vasectomy, and to let all women who don't want to, use the pill, what do you think about that? Oh wait... There goes your factor of free choice doesn't it?

All you'd really need to do is invent a birth control pill you only have to take once.

It is in the nature of humans that most of us would take one, only to change his or her mind later on.

Somebody wrote a short story about that once..

Maybe Harlan Ellison.

edit: So instead of eugenics based on economics, you'd have eugenics based in indecisiveness.

It would be nice if everyone was as reasonable as you. However, not everyone is and these persons can ruin something for everyone else.

This technology already exists and has been used successfully on other species of mammals.

I have no power to change anything, but what do you think is going to happen.

Actually, I'm against eugenics and doing it by fooling people into making bad choices is no better than doing it by force.

Just pointing out it would probably be possible.

If you spent billions on making tight woolen pants popular you'd reduce the world rate of reproduction too.

In the novel THE WANTING SEED (set in the future), they try to control population by popularizing homosexuality with billboards and commercials.

Slogans like, " It's sapiens to be homo", and public service announcements condemning hetro relationships are used, and governmental posts and civil service jobs are given preferentially to people who are, or at least pretend to be, gay.

There is also a big push by the government to make voluntary castration popular (how'd you like to be the public relations expert they gave that job too?)

They finally give up on this and resort to staging phony wars to keep the population down.

The wars in the book pit all-male units against all female units, giving the book reviewers an opportunity to pontificate about war as a metaphor for sexual aggression.

P.S. Yes, I do understand you.
You're a somewhat boring and predictable troll.

Bert summed you up pretty well once.
Just wish I knew how to bring that quote up here as it was more succinct than anything I would have come up with.

I would sincerely love to see a reference for that statement.

Since having children is so important to you, say you have a daughter and when she turns 13 she gets pregnant and has a baby and another baby every year after that. That would be a good thing and you'd be happy, right?

It is unconscionable to bring new life into this world when a billion people are starving, not only for ignoring their plight but additionally because this could also be the fate of your child.

Your right to say new life deserves decent conditions.that is also a good argument for better sex education and abortion facilities/health services/condoms and other birth control made available to everyone on the planet especially in poorer 3rd world countries where food scarcity and sub optimal living conditions are a recipe for being born into poverty and malnutrition. It is not a valid argument for your idea (especially
your possibly malicious motive) as a planet this will be a future issue for humans to deal with in a more humane manner but at this point in time were not there yet

This is one reference of the described technology.

When the earth becomes too overpopulated then we can send the extra billions of people to live on the moon or to some other habitable planet in another solar system.

Or maybe this.

Do you realise that the intention of that work is to wipe out rabbits and foxes in Australia, or at least that completely eliminating them there would be acceptable?

Do you think that's a good idea with humans?
Unlike rabbits, humans indulge in international travel.

You only have to read it to understand this is a review on what has been hypothesized and what has not been done because what was being hypothesized was a bad idea. On rabbits, let alone humans.

It is possible to defeat the effective barrier contraception of the immune system by in vitro microsurgery to directly inject the sperm into the egg.

What if you had to get permission from everyone on the planet, or even everyone in your building before you could reproduce? Do you think that permission would be granted?

If someone drank directly from your carton of milk or played loud music late at night would you think that they were inconsiderate?

You would probably not get permission to do so at least.
