Glassware issue
ordenblitz, you protect the flask with glass wool or other silicated insulator. Maybe infusorial earth? diatameous earth may also work.

I had the flask immersed in a bath of circulating cool water. I didn't think that insulating it was the best idea with all the heat that was
being generated.
I think I am going to try building a metal reaction chamber out of stainless steel pipe for the next attempt.
Bromic:
I would imagine that redP would act the same as white when burning and also form P4O6 in a limited O atmosphere. I should try to combust under
pressure in my next design.
