You're right. I should probably go through with another purification cycle of dissolving, boiling, filtering the Strontium Chloride crystals and this
time reducing the solution with heat until it starts forming crystals and let it cool at room temp. i'll probably end up with a more table salt-like
consistency after a visit in the dessicator.

Yeah, it looks like that worked, at least more or less. You’re into flame tests, aren’t you? Flame testing the recrystallised SrCl2 and the
supernatant liquid may offer some clues to the ‘quality improvement’ obtained by simple recrystallisation. Nice crystals, BTW: a ‘weak’
indicator of purity.
