Platinium/Titanium electrodes for sale (EU)

Im selling platinized expanded titanium mesh electrodes
specs: 40x95mm -1mm thickness
with attached handle in grade 2 1.5mm titanium 74 x 6mm
the electrodes are joined by spot welding

i dont know the exact thickness of the platinum coating, but just a single coating doesnt seem to fail under electrolysis and i give them 2 coatings

i also sell expanded titanium mesh electrodes as cathode as well as 316 stainless steel cathodes made in 3mm

Platinized titanium anode 40x95: 40 euro
https://gyazo.com/983ea5238e91f676970eb2b0bb4c6957

Expanded titanium mesh cathode: 10 euro
https://gyazo.com/f49ba712262dd56ce6f0664791313433

316 Stainless steel cathode: 2 euro
https://gyazo.com/0d5c3decc10b7ae94290716c89585301

in the industry straight up carbon steel is sometimes used as cathode so stainless should last an extra bit

shipping costs are 14 euro in europe

methylene blue positive test

i can also make larger electrodes upon request, i have some solid titanium sheet laying around still, or smaller ones too.

Any reason you only ship to the EU?

Is this for real or am I still asleep ? I went to bed yesterday or the day before thinking about quality electrodes...

I thought it would be nice if someone from SM could point me to a trusted and reliable source for such electrodes.

Any details on the manufacture to give us an idea on how long they could last would probably be interesting.
PM tonight with my order :)

well there are some strict parameters for running a platinum electrode but in optimum conditions electrolysis electrodes can last up to 20 years, so its unlikely that anyone on sciencemadness would even end up stresstesting these things so much that it does end up falling apart- maybe excluded bromide electrolysis- dont do that with titanium substrate.

i might also add i have some much cheaper grade of titanium stretch, china quality, maybe half a millimeter, but the surface area is greater so i can sell those too as cheaper cathodes- even after one of those was used as anode for an amount of hours its still good to go as cathode

i suppose this thinner grade titanium with platinum deposited on would be especially great for stuff like catalytic oxidation of alcohols as you can cut it to shape with a metal shear by hand, roll it up and put into a pipe and dump methanol fumes through maybe.

but about 1L concentrated solution of NaClO3 with some NaCl in it was turned into NaClO4 without visible deteoriation of the anode, while running it at merciless amps.

My package arrived yesterday !

I ordered 2 of each, unsure if I wanted a spare or just a potential gift.
I have no experience with this kind of electrode and cant estimate their lifespan or performance with my eyes only.

Under a magnifying glass they look absolutely perfect. No defect in the coating, it might be a little bit thicker on one of the edges but this might be an optical effect only.
The welds are definitely not going to break and make good contact. It's quality work, no doubt about that.

I'm happy with my purchase, glad it came from a forum member and totally recommend him.

Oh, and I got a shiny shiny piece of MgAl as a bonus :)

Unless life has more unpleasant surprises for me I should be testing them soon. I'll probably be traveling next week to a funeral.

I have also placed an order. Unfortunately I don't currently have a fixed address so it won't be delivered until I do, though I have seen a picture of the completed electrodes and can't wait to put them to use.

yes i ordered more titanium mesh so i can do at least 10 more platinum anodes
for some reason the titanium plates i can get cant be chemically pre-treated so i prefer to do mesh instead, if someone wants a bigger anode i can just weld multiple anodes together
