That looks like the saturated potassium carbonate/methanol/xylene column I made long ago.

The reddit post says they use acetone, vegetable oil and salt water - less toxic than xylene/methanol. But the comments also mention that it seems
refrigerated so it may not be stable or work at room temperature.

I didn't actually read the post, but yeah, that would work, too. The refrigeration might just be to stop the acetone from evaporating long-term.
