Extracting lead and tin from solder.
Does anyone know how to extract lead and tin from solder? Maybe using copper acetate to dissolve the lead? Thanks in advance.

modern pewter is mostly tin, with a few percent copper, antimony and/or other,
but original/antique pewter contained about 30% lead,
so check before using.
99.9% tin ingots are not too expensive via eBay etc.

How about removing the 1% silver from lead free solder, which is 99% tin and 1% silver.

Don't eat Pb solutions and don't breath the aerosols, you will be fine.
You can easily buy 60/40 Sn/Pb solder, when you dissolve this in nitric acid you get lead nitrate and SnO2. The nitrate will be dissolved and the
oxide will be a white solid which you can filter.
