Creation of cobalt oxide catalyst for vapor phase oxdidaton
I was wondering if anyone had any information on the practical creation of a cobalt oxide catalyst for vapor phase oxidations. To me, the most
practical way of accomplishing this would be to transform the cobalt oxide into some water soluble form via its salt by using an appropriate acid.
Once in liquid form, the cobalt could then be deposited on an inert carrier and then subsequently returned back to its oxide form using heat. Would
this be the best method and most practical for your average home hobbyist chemist or is there another method that would be better and more
appropriate. Was hoping someone could perhaps shed some light on this or maybe share their knowledge or experience. Thank you.Hope to hear back from
some of you.
