Possible meet-up in Brisbane early December

Hi all.
It seems that there are a few members scattered across this little corner of the state from Toowoomba to Ipswich Logan, Brisbane and the Sunny Coast. It might be an opportune time to see if we can connect.

I will (probably) be doing a work trip to Logan on Tuesday 10 December and then heading to North Brisbane to stay the night. There is a window of opportunity for us to gather at a pub or cafe somewhere in the region after work that day if anyone was up for it.

Reply in thread if you think you might be able to join in and also any suggestions of a place for us to gather.

Paging
  • draculic acid69
  • Lion850
  • j_sum1
  • aussie chemist
  • neon pulse
and anyone else I may have missed.

Five people within a 150 km radius is more like it, fusso. You should get a map out.
And it has taken four years for this to happen.

Nice work organising this, I am based in Sydney, but will be in Melbourne at that time. I work in Brisbane from time to time. If you decide to do this again please let me know!

Well, it looks as though there will be three of us. Location yet to be determined. (There are some constraints.) I will U2U later in the day unless you U2U me first. Gotta do some work now.

And it was lovely to meet you guys and chat idly with like-minded individuals. Great to swap supplier stories and various adventures abd misadventures in the lab. Definitely something to attempt again some time.

I repeat. NZ are losing. You are welcome to come north.
(And it's 10-15 degrees cooler. And the place is not burning.)

Unfortunately I missed this one a few years ago, and being back at the uni has taken most of my time, but lately I've been browsing the board a lot again. Wondering how many people are still around the SEQ region and if there's interest, should we do another meet in the coming months?

There is me. I am inland a couple of hours from Brissy. Draculic acid has shifted away from the region and is less involved in chem at the moment. I think he still keeps an eye on the board so may be worth a u2u. Lion850 has hung up his chemistry tools for a while and last I talked with him is working pretty extreme hours. He lives on the North side. Aussiechemist is (was) a uni student and I suspect has moved on. He no longer frequents the board. Neon Pulse lived on the Sunny coast last I heard, but that was a few years back. I have never met him.

The idea is a good one but numbers may well be small. Unless a few others join in. I will need a decent amount of notice as it will require a special trip or coordination with an existing trip with my family. This side of Christmas is unlikely to be possible.
