I was just wondering...
Does anyone know of a good freeware client program for anonymous proxy servers? Does anyone know of some good up-to-date lists of anonymous proxy
servers?

Most browsers have options to employ proxies. You can do this without third party software.
For lists, try Googling 'proxy list' (without the quotes).
