Selling quite a bit of Silver Nitrate

Hello everyone,

Stumbled upon quite a bit of BP/EP specification silver nitrate (made in Germany by Degussa/Evonik) in my company's warehouse. I've got about 50kg packed in 500g containers. Anyone interested?

The contents are in perfect condition and the transaction will be handled by the company so I'm not really involved, just looking to clear space in the warehouse. Any takers?

I see it going for around USD740 on ebay per 500g, so I guess will sell it off for around USD660 per 500g?

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Don't think shipping is too expensive to most places, freight can also be an option.

Good luck sir,
you are going to have to price it to the poor among us which I think is probably 97% of us.
I and most of us can make a couple of hundred grams of silver nitrate way cheaper than you are thinking of selling.
That is just one of the things that amateur chemist do, they make some (actually a lot ) of their own shit.
That said if you wish to send me a couple of hundred grams to review, I certainly would be honored.

I would pay the silver price (as in the silver that is actually there), as I know you want to get rid of it. For that price I would take a kilo. The fact that it is the nitrate doesn't make it more valuable for me, actually less as it means more shipping.

Edit: I also know you won't be able to sell it to anyone for more than the silver price.

You want to sell to photographers, who are afraid of dissolving silver, not to chemists, who do it for fun. Offer your wares at a photo forum and you will get a better price.

Silver spot price is about 50 cents a gram. AgNO3 is about 63% silver.

I am actually in the market for silver, as I have recently started goldsmithing as a hobby/side-project. I am surprised that you have so many offers (from members who I am certain could make the same quantity of product for far less themselves, as morganbw pointed out).

There are a lot of mom and pop jewelry places around where I live (about 3 miles from the jewelry district in downtown Los Angeles). Many of them acquire scrap but don't process it in-house. I really need to get down there and buy some scrap!

Dang man, I spent a couple of weeks there about a decade ago.

I must commend your business sense ─ and your perk of free shipping makes it extra attractive but 500g is way more than I'd need...
